Five suspects, including a teen and young adults, were apprehended following reports of gunfire in Montreal’s Anjou on Thursday night.
Montreal Police (SPVM) responded to 911 calls around 9:30 p.m., which led officers to the intersection of Joseph-Renaud Blvd. and Wilfrid Pelletier Blvd.
Police told CityNews that they did not find shell casings or projectile impacts at the scene.
“Witnesses were met on site and they did give the police some details regarding the suspects and one vehicle that was involved,” said SPVM media relations officer, Jeanne Drouin.
She added that around 10:30 p.m., officers then located the suspect vehicle on Jean-Talon Street East, near Lisieux Street in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough.
“Five guys were arrested last night,” explained Drouin. “One is aged of 23 years old, the other ones, 22, 21, 20, and one minor that is age of 16 years old.”
The five suspects were then brought to a detention facility last night where they will be questioned by investigators.
