18-year-old arrested with pellet gun at Longueuil metro station

An 18-year-old man was arrested with a pellet gun at the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station on Tuesday evening.

Longueuil Police (SPAL) explained that they were called at around 7 p.m. about a possibly armed individual on the metro station platform, heading toward Montreal.

“Thanks to the vigilance of some bystanders and the rapid intervention of our police officers, an 18-year-old man was arrested,” the SPAL said. “A pellet gun was seized.”

They added that the individual could face charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

No one was injured. An investigation is ongoing.
