Quebec surpassed 15,000 COVID-19 deaths, hospitalizations and ICU numbers down

Quebec COVID-19 deaths surpassed 15,000 in the last few days. The province adding three more fatalities in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,009 since the pandemic began.

The latest data shows that Quebec is dealing with 1,015 active outbreaks and 7,377 health care workers are absent from the system for COVID-related reasons.

In hospital, 2,170 people being treated for the virus, down by 12 – with 97 new entries and 109 discharges.

Of those, 78 in ICU, increasing by three – adding nine newly admitted and six released.

A total of 906 new infections, with 310 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.

Vaccination rates: 

-54 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a booster

-10 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot

-7K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 19.5M+ total so far
