Quebec COVID hospitalizations down by 54 patients, 23 deaths added

Quebec adding 23 more COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. Hospitalizations with a major decrease of 54 patients and ICU numbers down by four compared to the previous day.

The latest data shows the province is dealing with 783 active outbreaks (-28).

15,201 fatalities total since the pandemic began.

1,847 people being treated for the virus in hospital – 111 new entries and 165 discharges.

Of those, 62 in ICU – with seven newly admitted and 11 released.

A total of 1,101 new infections, with 198 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.

6,511 health care workers are absent from the system for COVID-related reasons, up from the previous day (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.).

Vaccination rates: 

-54 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a third dose, with 1K+ boosters administered in the last 24 hours

-12 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot, with 16K+ doses of the second booster administered in the last 24 hours

-close to 18K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 19.6M+ total so far
