Quebec adds nine COVID deaths, over 4,000 health workers out sick

Quebec with nine more COVID-related deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Hospitalizations down by four patients and ICU numbers up five.

The latest data shows the province is dealing with 136 active outbreaks.

15,523 fatalities total since the pandemic began.

1,004 people being treated for the virus in hospital – 64 new entries and 68 discharges.

Of those, 27 in ICU – with five newly admitted and zero released.

A total of 812 new infections, with 323 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.

4,486 health care workers are absent from the system for COVID-related reasons.

Vaccination rates:  

-55 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a third dose, with 934 boosters administered in the last 24 hours

-14 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot, with 3,527 doses of the second booster administered in the last 24 hours

-4K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 19.9M+ total so far
