Montreal police have found the driver who allegedly hit a baby stroller in Outremont last month – and left the scene

The SPVM say the November 16 incident is attributed to a careless 87-year-old driver.

Authorities have asked the SAAQ, the province’s automobile insurance board, to suspend his licence.

The incident was captured on a nearby homes security camera and shared widely on social media – in hopes of finding the driver.

In the surveillance video, a black vehicle is heading northbound on Bloomfield Avenue in the Outremont borough around 2:30 p.m., approaches the intersection of Lajoie Avenue, but doesn’t slow down, despite stop signs and a woman crossing with a baby carriage.

Then the car is seen apparently speeding up as the woman crosses with the stroller and strikes it.

The one-year-old inside the carriage was not seriously injured.

The case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office to determine if any charges will be laid.

Police say this was not a hate crime.
