55-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Côte-des-Neiges

A 55-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges area.

She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Another 58-year-old woman, who was with her at the time, was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Montreal police (SPVM) say her life is  now out of danger.

The driver, a 64-year-old female, suffered no serious injuries, but was taken to the hospital to be treated for shock.

According to an SPVM spokesperson, the driver was heading east on Bourret Ave. when her vehicle hit a parked car and then subsequently hit the two women walking.

Investigators were on scene to understand the exact circumstances of the collision.
