A powerful storm ripped through southwestern Quebec Thursday afternoon and into the early evening. Environment Canada confirmed one tornado was observed north of Montreal in Mirabel and a
second is suspected to have hit southwest of the city. No injuries or major damages reported.
Hundreds of thousands of Hydro customers were still without power Friday morning, the majority of them in the Montreal area.
Torrential rainfall also led to flooding of roads and highways.
Here are some images and videos Quebecers shared on social media.
