Major road closures upcoming near airport, at La Fontaine tunnel

Montreal drivers can expect a series of road closures and detours over the next few days involving the Dorval interchange, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel and the Saint-Pierre interchange.

Dorval interchange – July 19 to 21

Maintenance work will lead to night closures at certain access points to Highway 520 in the area of the Dorval interchange and Montreal airport from Wednesday to Friday.

• The ramp leading from the airport to Highway 520 westbound will be fully closed from Wednesday 11 p.m. to Thursday 4 a.m. A detour will be in place via Highway 20 eastbound, 55th Avenue and Highway 20 westbound.
• The ramp leading eastbound from Highway 520 to the airport will be fully closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday. A detour will be in place via Michel-Jasmin Avenue, Marshall Avenue and McMillan Boulevard.
• The ramp leading from Michel-Jasmin Avenue to Highway 520 eastbound will be fully closed from Thursday 9 p.m. to Friday 4 a.m. A detour will be in place via Michel-Jasmin Avenue.
• The ramp leading from the airport to Highway 520 eastbound will be fully closed from Thursday 11 p.m. to Friday 4 a.m. A detour will be in place via Highway 20 eastbound, exit 60 toward Laval, Highway 13 northbound and exit 3-E toward Highway 520.

Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel – July 21 to 24

Major repairs to the La Fontaine tunnel are forcing the complete closure of the tunnel towards Montreal this weekend.

• There will be a complete closure of Highways 20 and 25 toward Montreal between exit 90 and the entrance from boul. Yves-Prévost from Friday 11:30 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. Access to Île Charron will be maintained.

The La Fontaine tunnel will also be closed towards the South Shore during the nights of July 21 and 22 for inspection work.

• There will be a complete closure of Highway 25 towards the South Shore between exit 4 and the entrance for Île Charron on Friday from 11:30 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m. and again on Saturday from 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
• Souligny Avenue eastbound between Dickson Street and Honoré-Beaugrand Street will also be closed from Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m. and again from Saturday 10:30 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.

Saint-Pierre interchange – July 21 to 24

The Saint-Pierre interchange ramp from the Honoré-Mercier bridge to Highway 20 westbound will be closed over the weekend.

• The ramp from Route 138 eastbound to Highway 20 westbound will be closed from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
• The off-ramp from Highway 20 westbound to Route 138 westbound will be closed from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Saturday at 7 a.m.
• Route 138 eastbound will be closed from Sunday at 10:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. (complete closure from Clément Street).
• Route 138 eastbound will also be closed from Sunday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. (between exit 2 and the Saint-Pierre interchange).
