Record-breaking year for Fierté Montréal

The 17th edition of the Fierté Montréal Festival saw close to half a million participants celebrate gender and sexual diversity.
More than 450,000 people took part in the festivities from August 3 to 13, 2023.
The Pride Parade reached a record 15,500 registered marchers on August 13 and over 200,000 people gathered along the streets of downtown Montreal.
The festival also saw a record participating for their “Community Days,” over 180 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied organizations from Montreal and all over Quebec welcomed over 145,000 visitors.

During the festival, more than 65,000 festivalgoers enjoyed various free outdoor artistic events at Jardins Gamelin and the Olympic Park, ranging from concerts to comedy, from drag shows to dance parties. More than 150 artists – many emerging, indigenous and from racialized groups – took the various stages.
The festival reports all nine shows at Club Soda, National and in SAT’s Satosphère were sold out.
A series of conferences featuring issues faced by the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, created and organized in collaboration with them, were also a success.
