Montreal man deemed fit to stand trial in connection to wife’s death in Wickham

The Montreal man charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of his 34-year-old wife in Wickham, Que., about 100 kilometres southeast of Montreal, has been deemed fit to stand trial.

A judge in Drummondville came to the decision Tuesday after a psychiatric evaluation was done on 39-year-old Kevin Romagosa.

He’s s charged with the premeditated murder of his wife Robyn-Krystle O’Reilly and indecent interference with human remains.

Police say relatives of the two people involved initially called police in Montreal – where they were both from in Pierrefonds – after family became concerned about their safety.

O’Reilly was the mother of two children, aged four and six. A fundraiser was recently held in support of her mother, Tara O’Reilly.

The content of the psychiatric evaluation remains confidential.

Romagosa is due back in court Sept. 22.
