Some flights diverted to Montreal after Toronto Pearson plane crash

Some flights were diverted to Montreal Trudeau International airport Monday in response to the plane crash that injured at least 15 people in Toronto.

A Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis crashed at Toronto Pearson just after 2 p.m., with images from the scene showing the plane flipped upside down on the tarmac.

At least 15 people were injured, including a child who was critically hurt.

Just before 4:30 p.m., the Montreal airport said on social media it was “preparing to receive several diversion flights. Our teams are already in action to welcome them.”

The airport warned that could cause delays “at various points along the passenger process” at Trudeau.

Pearson said arrivals and departures resumed as of 5 p.m. after being put on hold for several hours. Major delays were still expected.
