Three cars damaged by arson in Kirkland

KIRKLAND – Three cars were heavily damaged by an arson fire that broke out late Tuesday night on the West Island.

No one was injured.

The Montreal police force (SPVM) reports that the fire broke out around 11:45 p.m. in a car parked on a residential property located on Place Schwartz, near the intersection of Meridian Street, in Kirkland.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames, sparing the adjacent house. However, three cars were burned.

Firefighters found an incendiary object when inspecting the rubble and transferred the investigation over to the SPVM arson squad.

Investigators will be looking at images captured by surveillance cameras.
