Quebec Premier François Legault continues to see his approval rating steadily drop this year, new polling shows.

The Angus Reid Institute has Legault’s approval rating at 47 per cent – down one percentage point.

It continues the steady decline for the CAQ leader, who had a 57 per cent rating in December.

But Legault’s approval rating remains relatively strong among other Canadian premiers.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston are tied with the country’s highest current approval rating at 50 per cent despite a significant drop for both.

Newfoundland Premier Andrew Furey (49 per cent), B.C. Premier David Eby (48 per cent) and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith (47 per cent) all made gains in approval rating, the research shows.

At the bottom of the pack are Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson. They are both at 30 per cent, though trending in different directions.
