Montreal drivers can expect 4 major road closures this weekend

Before Montreal is expected to get any snow, the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable says drivers can expect more delays over the coming weekend.

Between Friday, Oct. 27, and Monday, Oct. 30, the Honoré Mercier Bridge, the Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou overpass over Highway 40 (Metropolitan), and part of the interchange of Highways 20 and 30 will see some closures.

In addition, there will also be a longer closure — Oct. 30 to Nov. 10 — for the ramp leading from Industrial Boulevard, northbound, to Highway 440, westbound.

Starting at 11:59 p.m., on Oct. 27, and running until 5 a.m., on Oct. 30, the ramp from Highway 138 eastbound (from the Honoré Mercier Bridge) to Highway 20 eastbound (toward downtown) will be completely closed.

In addition, there will be one lane available in each direction, along the Honoré Mercier Bridge on Saturday and Sunday, between 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The closure and lane reduction are due to ongoing maintenance work on the Honoré Mercier Bridge and the Saint-Pierre interchange.

There will be a complete closure between Jean-Talon Street and Belfroy Avenue from 9:30 p.m., on Friday to 5 a.m., on Monday.

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable says the closure to the Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou overpass is to continue reconstruction work.

Detours will be in place and will be marked with temporary signage.

Leading up to the weekend closure, there will be an overnight closure of Route 132 eastbound between Exit 85 – Rolland-Therrien Boulevard and the entrance from Marie-Victorin Boulevard, between 10 p.m., on Wednesday and 5 a.m., on Thursday.

Following that, there will be complete closures within the interchange of Highways 20 and 30, starting at 9:30 p.m., on Friday and lasting until 5 a.m., on Monday. The closures within the intersection are as follows:

  • Highway 20 eastbound service road at exit 98 -Sorel-Tracy / Châteauguay / USA;
  • The ramp from Highway 20 eastbound to Highway 30 eastbound.

The Ministère says these closures are to do repair work on a culvert.

Lastly, the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable says there will be an extended closure of the exit ramp leading from Industrial Boulevard, northbound, to Highway 440, westbound.

Starting at 4 a.m., on Oct. 30 and lasting until 11 p.m., on Nov. 10, there will be a complete closure of the ramp.

The Ministère says the closure is due to the construction of an elevated ramp between Highway 440 (Jean-Noël-Lavoie), westbound, and Highway 15 (des Laurentides), northbound, in Laval.

During this closure, a detour will be in place via Dagenais Boulevard West, Route 117 (Curé-Labelle Blvd.) and Highway 15, southbound to join Highway 440, westbound.
