50-year-old pedestrian fatally struck by car in St-Michel

A 50-year-old woman died Wednesday evening after being hit by a car in Montreal’s Saint-Michel.

It happened just after 5 p.m., on Joseph-Guibord Avenue when the pedestrian was crossing Jarry. A traffic light and pedestrian crossings are located at this intersection.

The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries later in the evening.

The driver of the vehicle, a 55-year-old man, was treated at the scene for shock and is expected to meet with police officers.

The investigation is ongoing.
