REM resumes after service disruption in both directions Montreal-Brossard

By News Staff

Service on Montreal’s Réseau express métropolitain (REM) gradually resumed after the light-rail train network was down for more than two hours on Thursday morning – in both directions Montreal-Brossard. Officials say it was due to a technical problem.

The interruption was announced at around 5:30 a.m.

REM authorities said work was carried out on the electrical system overnight, but the problem continued into the morning – and there was no power to run the trains.

Shuttle buses were being offered to commuters.

The REM network slowly started running again at around 7:40 a.m.
