A man sitting in a parked vehicle was targeted by gunfire Sunday night in the Rivière-des-Prairies neighborhood.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the corner of André-Ampère Avenue and Copernic Avenue.
“The victim has difficulty explaining why (he) would have been targeted by the shots in question,” said SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron. “He’s cooperating with the police, obviously, at this point. As for the suspects, they remain to be identified.”
When police arrived, they found a parked car that had been the target of gunfire from another vehicle, which had passed nearby before fleeing.
SPVM officers believe that there were two people inside the suspect vehicle.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
