Road closures on last weekend of construction holiday

By News Staff

While there are no new closures planned for the final weekend of Quebec’s construction holiday, drivers should still be aware and plan ahead due to the multiple road closures in the Montreal area.

Transport Quebec is warning motorists of the following existing closures and asking them to consult Quebec 511 for any changes.

Bonaventure Expressway / Nuns’ Island sector

Complete closure of the ramp leading from Highway 10 East (Bonaventure) to the Samuel De Champlain Bridge until September.

Detour: via exit 4 towards Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard and A-15 south / Samuel De Champlain Bridge. Please note that Exit 5 (Nuns’ Island) is channeled and reserved exclusively for residents of the island.

On Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard (toward downtown) at Highway 10 / Clément Bridge, partial closure of one lane until the beginning of December.

De Lorimier Avenue / Phase Change

In Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough, partial closure of De Lorimier Avenue northbound (1 lane open) and maintenance of 2 lanes southbound between René-Lévesque and De Maisonneuve boulevards, until August 9.

Rose-de-Lima Street

In Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough, long-term closure of Rose-de-Lima Street between Saint-Antoine and Saint-Jacques streets and closure of the Rose-de-Lima/Saint-Jacques intersection.

Reminder: on Saint-Antoine Street West, between Rose-de-Lima Street and Atwater Avenue, the direction of traffic has been reversed since June 10 (2 lanes eastbound). Consult the web page of the Saint-Antoine Street West and Saint-Jacques Street redevelopment project on the City’s website.

R-132 / R-138 / Honoré-Mercier Bridge interchange

In Kahnawake, partial closure of one lane on the ramp leading from Hwy. 138 west (from the Honoré-Mercier Bridge) to Hwy. 132 east (toward La Prairie), until Thursday, September 5.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (YUL)

Those on their way to Montreal-Trudeau International Airport can avoid traffic congestion by taking advantage of the new express drop-off service located at the P4 and P10 parking lots. Accessible every day from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., the free shuttle service runs every five minutes.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or operational constraints, the work may be cancelled or modified. Check the Quebec511.info regularly to find out about current and upcoming obstructions on the network.
