65-year-old woman dies after hit-and-run in Laval

A 65-year-old woman was the victim of a deadly hit-and-run hit in Laval on Wednesday morning.
She was hit by a vehicle just after 6 a.m. at the corner of de la Concorde Blvd. and 15th street in Laval-des-Rapides.
Several people called 911 to signal a motionless body on ground.
Local police say the driver involved in this incident fled the scene, leaving the woman lying on the street – amid traffic in the area.
Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the woman after they arrived, but her death was confirmed in hospital.
Laval authorities had asked neighbouring police departments for help in their search for the alleged perpetrator.
Montreal police (SPVM) reportedly located the implicated vehicle in Cote-des-Neiges later in the morning.
The investigation is still underway, but Laval police say they are meting with the possible driver of the vehicle and charges could be laid.
