Man fatally struck by pick-up truck in Montreal

A 38-year-old man is dead after being hit by a pick-up truck in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough on Tuesday.

According to Montreal police (SPVM), it happened at around 8:45 p.m. on Bossuet Place, near Bossuet Street.

When officers arrived, they located the victim with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.

“The man was hit as the truck, which had a trailer behind it, was leaving the parking lot,” said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, was interviewed by police, along with potential witnesses.

A perimeter was set up to allow investigators to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
