Montreal may see a noticeable military presence over the weekend.
The Department of National Defence will have a convoy of around 20 military vehicles from the 34th Service Battalion travelling between St-Hubert and Amos from Friday to Sunday.
They will travel from St-Hubert and pass through the areas of Montreal, Laval, St-Jérôme, Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Mont-Tremblant, Mont-Laurier, Val-d’Or and eventually end up in Amos.
Light and heavy vehicles will be part of the convoy, clearly identified as military vehicles.
The convoy will not pose any danger to the public during their 600 km trip, but traffic may be temporarily slowed down as they travel together. There also may be more noise on the roads.
The goal is to allow the operators to keep their skills up to date in a real-life context and allow them to train to deploy in support to any operation entrusted to them.
