Driver dies after head-on collision in Les Éboulements

A driver lost her life Saturday morning after swerving out of her lane and colliding with another car on route 362, in the municipality of Les Éboulements, in the Capitale-Nationale region.
“Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at around 9 a.m., near Chemin de Cap aux Oies,” said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokeswoman Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the small car travelling eastbound deviated from her lane on a slight curve and collided with an SUV travelling in the opposite direction.
Both drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time of impact. Extrication tongs were reportedly needed to extricate them from their cars.
Both were taken to Baie-Saint-Paul Hospital with serious injuries. The driver who had allegedly swerved out of her lane was in a very critical condition at the time of transport and was unfortunately pronounced dead at the hospital. The other driver’s life is not in danger.
Route 362 has been closed in both directions at Chemin de Cap aux Oies. A detour is possible via the local network.
