SPVM arrest 3rd alleged suspect in 2022 Pointe-Saint-Charles double murder

Montreal police (SPVM) arrested a third suspect allegedly connected to the 2022 Pointe-Saint-Charles murders of a grandmother and her granddaughter.

The 21-year-old female suspect was taken into custody overnight Sunday into Monday – in Terrebonne – with the help of local authorities.

She appeared in court Monday to face charges of manslaughter and conspiracy to escape.

The murders took place on Dec. 15, 2022, inside an apartment near Mullins and Charlevoix streets.

SPVM were called to the scene after gunshots were heard at around 2:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two women, a 73 and 22-year-old – both shot.

The senior was pronounced dead at the scene, while the young woman was rushed to the hospital – where she later succumbed to her injuries.

In Nov. 2023, the SPVM arrested an 18-year-old and 23-year-old man in this case.

They were both charged with first-degree murder.

The 18-year-old was a minor (17) at the time of the crime and is also facing murder charges in another file.

These murders were the 37th and 38th homicides of 2022 on the island of Montreal.
