3 arrested in Côte-des-Neiges–NDG murder case

Three men were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 55-year-old man earlier this year in the Montreal borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (CDN–NDG).

The suspects — aged 22, 26, and 35 — were apprehended in coordinated police operations carried out Thursday in Baie-Comeau, Quebec City, and Montreal.

The fatal incident occurred on Feb. 2, at around 11:55 p.m., when a 911 call alerted police to a man suffering from gunshot wounds on Saint-Jacques Street in CDN–NDG. Officers found the victim unconscious. He was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

All three are facing first-degree murder charges and are scheduled to appear before a judge at the Montreal courthouse on Friday.

According to Montreal Police (SPVM), the arrests followed an extensive investigation led by the force’s Major Crimes Division, with support from the Sûreté du Québec and the Quebec City Police.

Multiple search warrants were executed in Baie-Comeau, Quebec City, Laval, and Montreal as part of the ongoing investigation.

This was the third homicide recorded on the Island of Montreal this year.
