Several metro stations evacuated due to smoke at Crémazie, service resumes on Orange line

By News Staff

Metro service on part of the Orange line was interrupted Friday morning because of the presence of smoke.

The STM says that a fire alarm was pulled around 8:13 a.m. due to smoke at Crémazie station.

This resulted in the evacuation of the metro stations between Berri-UQAM and Henri-Bourassa.

Montreal’s fire department says it was a minor intervention — and first responders helped facilitate the evacuation.

A shuttle bus service was put in place for commuters affected by the service outage.

Normal service resumed around 9:30 a.m.
