47-year-old woman’s legs crushed by vehicle near Mount Royal Park: police

The 47-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a collision Monday afternoon in the Mount Royal parking lot in Montreal remains hospitalized, but her life is no longer believed to be in danger.

Emergency services were notified of the collision around 4 p.m., after several calls were made to 911.

It happened in the parking lot of Mount Royal Park, on Remembrance Road, in the Ville-Marie borough.

When police arrived, the victim, was lying on the ground, suffering from significant injuries to her legs.

SPVM say the victim was conscious and was quickly taken care of by paramedics who transported her to hospital.

According police, some witnesses say the 27-year-old driver of an SUV was seen driving at a “higher than average” speed.

The driver allegedly hit the victim when she was leaning into the trunk of her own car. The woman then found herself trapped between the two bumpers.

SPVM say the reason for the maneuver of the SUV’s driver is unknown.

The suspect was placed under arrest for reckless driving.

The investigation is ongoing.
