16-year-old arrested after alleged shooting in Ahuntsic

A 16-year-old has been arrested following a shooting late Tuesday morning in Montreal’s Ahuntsic.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Drouart Street near Charles-Gill Street, where more than a dozen gunshots were reportedly fired towards a residence.

Numerous 911 calls led police to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect fled on foot, but was located minutes later hiding in an auto repair garage approximately 700 meters from the shooting site.

Authorities say the teen was arrested for possession of a firearm. The suspect is currently being held at a youth detention centre and will be questioned by investigators later today.

The investigation is ongoing.
