Two bodies recovered from St. Lawrence River in Boucherville

The bodies of a man and a woman were recovered from the St. Lawrence River in Boucherville on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), emergency services were called around 2 p.m. regarding two unresponsive bodies seen in the St. Lawrence River.
The Longueuil fire department recovered the bodies, and their deaths were confirmed on the scene.
“Autopsies are underway to determine the cause of death but equally we try to get the identities,” SQ spokesperson, Louis-Philippe Ruel, told CityNews.
“It doesn’t seem like the two events are related,” he added. “No link between the two bodies that were found.”
The causes and circumstances of the deaths remain unknown.
An investigation is ongoing.
