SPVM arrest 3 after shots fired at Plateau bar

Montreal police have arrested three young adults in connection with shots fired at a bar on Mont-Royal Ave. East in the Plateau on May 2 while about twenty customers were inside.

Two men aged 18 and 19, and an 18-year-old woman were taken into custody in Vaudreuil on Wednesday.

No injuries were reported in the early-morning shooting, but officers found bullet holes in the bar’s glass entrance and shell casings on the ground.

Two of them, Steachy Valme from Laval, and Kassandra Pépin-Larocque from Saint-Sauveur, were charged on Thursday at the Montreal courthouse with:

  • Reckless discharge of a firearm
  • Knowingly possessing stolen property – a stolen vehicle in this case
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

Valme was also charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and unlawful liberty.

According to La Presse, the prosecution opposed their release, and they spent a second night behind bars. Their bail hearing was postponed until Friday.
