Overnight closure of Highway 25 from June 11 to 12, including Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel

The Transport Ministry is informing road users of the complete closure of Highway 25 in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, which will be in place during the night of June 11 to 12.

“This closure is required to carry out work related to the tunnel’s electrical and communications systems,” they said. “Maintenance work is also planned.”

Highway 25 toward Montreal

Complete closure of Highway 25 toward Montreal, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel.

Between Exit 90 – Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, P.E. Trudeau Airport and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East.

This is taking place from Wednesday 9 p.m. to Thursday 5 a.m.

“The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the highway’s complete closure,” the Ministry said.

Highway 25 toward the South Shore

Complete closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel.

Between Exit 4 – Montreal (downtown) / J.-Cartier Bridge and the entrance from Île Charron.

This is taking place from Wednesday 9 p.m. to Thursday 5 a.m.

“Entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the highway’s complete closure,” the Ministry explained.

Adding that Souligny Avenue eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets, will be closed 30 minutes before the highway’s complete closure.

These closures are subject to operational constraints and favourable weather conditions in order to proceed with the marking of the roadway.
