Reward for fugitive Dylan Denis upped to $50K

A reward for information leading to the arrest of one of Canada’s most-wanted suspects has been increased substantially.

Authorities are now offering $50,000 to anyone who helps in the arrest of Dylan Denis, 28, who is wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville on May 14, 2024.

Montreal police (SPVM) arrested two suspects in that investigation in June 2024 — one in British Columbia and the other in Saint-Jérôme, Que.

The Bolo Program reward for Denis, put up by Sun Youth, was previously $10,000.

Denis is number-four on Bolo’s most-wanted fugitives in Canada. The French-speaking suspect is five-foot-five, weighs 170 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. He has several tattoos, including one on his neck that reads “CRIME PAY$” as well as on his hands, back, torso and arms.

“We’re not ruling out any possibilities. He may have changed his appearance, he may have changed his identity,” said SPVM Commander Mélanie Dupont, head of the major crimes section. “All those avenues are being explored.”

“Dylan Denis’ escape has now lasted for over a year and it must end,” said Maxime Langlois, executive director of the Bolo Program. “Today, the Bolo Program, in collaboration with its partners, is deploying several means, including rewards and advertising campaigns, to encourage citizens to be on the lookout for Denis.”

On May 14, police were called around 8:20 p.m. for reported gunshots on Park Avenue near Legendre Street, and a man who appeared to be unconscious.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, who was sent to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. It was the 11th homicide in 2024 on the island of Montreal.

The suspects reportedly fled in a vehicle before police arrived.
