Montreal police have arrested three more young adults in connection with shots fired at a bar on Mont-Royal Ave. East in the Plateau on May 2 while about 20 customers were inside.
Police say they made a third wave of arrests on June 25, as part an investigation into a series of extortion incidents marked by acts of violence and intimidation.
Three additional suspects, aged 20 to 34, were arrested and were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
On May 2, at around 2:45 a.m. patrol officers responded to a call reporting shots fired toward the front door of a bar located on Mont-Royal Ave. East, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
One suspect was reportedly seen firing at the door before fleeing.

No injuries were reported in the early morning shooting, but officers found bullet holes in the bar’s glass entrance and shell casings on the ground.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of three initial suspects: two men and a woman aged 18 to 19, who were released on a promise to appear. On June 5, a second phase of the investigation led to the arrest of two additional individuals, two men aged 19 and 26, who were also released on a promise to appear.
That brings the total to eight arrests in this case — all “suspected of playing an active role in a series of violent and intimidating incidents targeting a group of business owners,” according to an SPVM press release.
These arrests are part of a criminal investigation led by the Northern Region Multi-Sector Firearms Team (EMAF), in collaboration with several SPVM units. Searches were also conducted, resulting in the seizure of various pieces of evidence.
Police say the investigation continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 911 or their local police station.
They also encourage business owners that may have been the victim of threats to not to give in to intimidation. “The SPVM wishes to reiterate that it is through collaboration, mutual trust, and collective vigilance that we can effectively counter these unacceptable acts.”
