Cyclist critically injured in Côte-des-Neiges–NDG collision

A cyclist was critically injured late Thursday morning following a collision with an SUV in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

Montreal police say they received several 911 calls around 11:25 a.m. reporting a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist at the intersection of Édouard-Montpetit Blvd. and Trans-Island Ave.

Officers arriving at the scene assisted a 79-year-old man who had sustained upper-body injuries.

Urgences-santé paramedics transported him to hospital in critical condition.

Authorities say they are still awaiting an official update on his condition.

The driver of the vehicle was a 44-year-old woman.

Police say collision experts have completed their work at the scene.
