Road closures for Montreal this weekend

Mobility Montréal advises road users that major obstructions are expected over the weekend.

Road users can expect night closures of Highway 25 will be in place on July 25 and 26. These obstructions are required for the construction of a guardrail, the installation of oversized vehicle detection cameras, and for inspections. Night closures are also planned during the week on Route 132 for the repair of the median barrier.

Night closures – Week of July 21

Highway 25 toward the South Shore

Closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore during the night of July 25 to 26 (CNW Group/Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable)
  • Complete closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore between Exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and Souligny Avenue, from Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
    • The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will remain open and will be accessible from Souligny Avenue East.
    • The entrance from Sherbrooke Street will be closed 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed.
  • Complete closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and the entrance from Charron Island, from Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
    • The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed.
    • Souligny Avenue eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets, will be closed 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed.

Highway 25 toward Montreal

  • Complete closure of Highway 25 toward Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between exit 90 (Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau airport) and the entrance from Hochelaga Street, from Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
    • The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed.
Closure of the tunnel in both directions during the night of July 26 to 27 (CNW Group/Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility)

Route 132

  • Closure of the left lane of Route 132 eastbound (Varennes-bound corridor) between Roland-Therrien Boulevard and Highway 20 (Jean-Lesage), from Monday 9 p.m. to Tuesday 5 a.m. and from Friday 9 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
  • Maintenance of one lane on Highway 132 westbound between Exit 89 (Highway 20 East, Highway 30, Quebec City, L.-H.-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel, Montreal) and the Highway 20 overpass, from Monday 9 p.m. to Tuesday 5 a.m. and from Friday 9 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
  • Closure of Exit No. 90 (Highway 20 West, Route 132, Varennes, La Prairie, USA, P.E.-Trudeau Airport) of Highway 20 westbound, and Exit No. 90 (Varennes, La Prairie, USA) of Highway 20 eastbound, from Monday 9 p.m. to Tuesday 5 a.m. and from Friday 9 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.

Honoré Mercier Bridge

The Honoré Mercier Bridge will also undergo repairs including the repair of slabs and steel elements, during the weekend of July 25. These interventions require the implementation of a partial closure. Episodes of congestion are to be expected.

  • One lane available in each direction on the bridge.
