Projet Montréal now has a complete team of 103 candidates, ahead of the municipal campaign’s official launch on Friday, in anticipation of the Nov. 2 election day.
Leader and mayoral candidate Luc Rabouin made the announcement Wednesday, as he unveiled the party’s slogan: “No slogan. Only solutions.”
Projet Montréal says this is the first time a municipal party in Montreal has completed its candidate slate before the official election period, finalized 48 hours before the official campaign begins.
At a press conference, Rabouin said they will propose solutions aligned with the priorities of Montrealers.
“We will convince them that we have the good vision for Montreal, and we have the good team to do it,” Rabouin said.
Rabouin said the slogan reflects their vision of focusing on what matters to Montrealers including overcoming the housing and homelessness crises, developing a strong economy, and making Montreal resilient to climate change.
“My team and I will take advantage of this campaign to propose solutions that will address the concerns of the population. We have no time to waste thinking about slogans or empty phrases,” Rabouin said, in a press release.
He also presented the final candidate of the team: Élise Tanguay, a communications professional running for city councillor in Saint-Paul–Émard–Saint-Henri-Ouest.
According to Rabouin, Tanguay’s candidacy reflects their approach. As a recognized housing expert, she has led financial negotiations and government initiatives aimed at affordable housing.
“My experience has shown me how essential it is to protect affordability and create new off-market housing options,” Tanguay said.
