Jennifer Morin murder: Police in Quebec, Ontario make 13 arrests in major operation

More than 200 police officers were deployed across Quebec and Ontario early Tuesday morning in a large-scale operation targeting suspects linked to the murder of Jennifer Morin.

Raids were conducted in Montreal, Laval, Longueil, and Casselman, Ontario, as authorities moved in on over a dozen individuals believed to be connected to the case.

This operation is led by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), and several other police forces are participating.

Asked who the targets of this strike were, a spokesperson for the SPVQ simply said that the operation concerned “urban violence.”

The body of Jennifer Morin, 45, was found in her home on Dec. 16. The possibility of mistaken identity had been raised. Morin’s son, Jeffrey, was linked to the Blood Family Mafia gang, which wages a merciless war against the Hells Angels.

Jeffrey Morin, was arrested at the end of Jan. for arms trafficking, he already had a record for drug trafficking. He was sentenced to seven years in prison last July.

As the operation was still ongoing early in the day, police were tight-lipped about details.

A full report on the operation is expected later Tuesday.
