Human bones found in a Salaberry-de-Valleyfield ditch, SQ investigating

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) say human bones, belonging to a woman, were found Tuesday in a Salaberry-de-Valleyfield ditch.

Police were called at around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 by a worker who discovered the bones in a ditch on des Érables Blvd., near the intersection of Gérard-Cadieux Blvd.

“After analysis, we can confirm that the bones are human, specifically those of a woman,” wrote the SQ in a press release.

“Investigators, along with the SQ’s Forensic Identification Service and K-9 unit, went to the scene [Wednesday] to analyze it and collect as much evidence as possible.”

The investigation is ongoing, particularly to identify the victim and determine the causes and circumstances surrounding her death.
