26-year-old man stable after being stabbed in Plateau–Mont-Royal on Christmas eve

A 26-year-old man was injured in an armed assault Wednesday night in the Plateau—Mont-Royal borough, according to Montreal police (SPVM).

SPVM said they received a call at 10:45 p.m. about the incident at an apartment located on Saint-Denis Street, near Bienville Street.

When the police arrived on the scene, they found the victim had significant injuries to his upper body, but was conscious.

“He was then transported to the hospital, and despite his important injuries, is in a stable condition, and we do not fear for his life,” said Jeanne Drouin, SPVM spokesperson.

Forensic analysts setup a perimeter around the scene and gathered evidence.

No arrests have been made so far. The investigation is ongoing.
