6-year-old injured after being struck by vehicle in Anjou

A minor was taken to hospital with serious injuries Monday evening after being hit by a vehicle in Montreal’s Anjou borough.

Montreal police say they received a 911 call around 5:40 p.m. reporting a collision involving a car and a pedestrian near the intersection of Châteauneuf Boulevard and Guy Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located the young victim suffering from an injury to the lower body. The minor was conscious when transported to hospital, and police say their life is not believed to be in danger.

Part of Châteauneuf Blvd. was temporarily closed while police responded to the scene, but the roadway has since reopened.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
