Sunshine starts Montreal Grand Prix weekend before rain moves in for race day

Montrealers kicked off Grand Prix weekend Friday under sunny skies and warm temperatures, with ideal conditions expected to continue into Saturday before rain moves into the city for Sunday’s race day.
Environment Canada forecasts sunshine Friday with a high of 20 Celsius. Clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures dropping to 7 C.
Saturday is expected to remain mostly sunny through much of the day, although cloud cover will increase in the afternoon. The daytime high is forecast to reach 21 C. Saturday night is expected to be cloudy with a low of 12 C.
The weather is expected to shift significantly Sunday as periods of rain move into Montreal for Formula One race day. Temperatures are forecast to cool to a high of 13 C, nearly 10 degrees lower than Saturday’s daytime high.
Rain is expected to continue into Sunday night with temperatures holding steady around 12 C.
The unsettled conditions are expected to linger into the start of the work week, with rain forecast Monday and a warmer high of 23 C. Skies are then expected to clear Monday night.
Summer-like temperatures are forecast to return by Tuesday, with sunny skies and a high of 27 C. Wednesday is also expected to be warm, with a mix of sun and cloud and another high of 27 C.
Conditions are expected to remain mild into Thursday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a forecast high of 25 C.
