Montreal man fined over $2,100 clocking 185 km/h on Highway 20

A 26-year-old Montreal man received a $2,143-ticket and 24 demerit points after he was caught traveling at 185 km/h on Highway 20.

The incident happened Sept. 18, when officers from the Montreal highway control station stopped the vehicle travelling 115 km/h over the speed limit on the Highway 20 travelling west on Pullman Boulevard.

The driver was also arrested on charges of driving while impaired, Sûreté du Québec said.

His driver’s license was suspended for seven days.

SQ warned drivers that speed is one of the leading causes of fatal collisions on Quebec roads.
