41-year-old man stabbed in Montreal North apartment

A 41-year-old man is in critical condition after a suspected stabbing inside a Montreal North apartment early Friday morning.

Police say officers responded to a call around 5:20 a.m. at a residence on Balzac Ave. near Léger Blvd. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from serious upper-body injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp object.

Emergency services transported the man to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

According to SPVM, the incident may have stemmed from a dispute between the victim and a woman who was also inside the apartment. The cause is still unknown, the woman allegedly inflicted injuries on the man.

The woman was arrested at the scene and is expected to be questioned by investigators.
