Star Canadiens netminder and wife join Hero Project

MONTREAL (CITYNEWS) – Star goaltender of the Montreal Canadians Carey Price and his wife Angela have partnered with the Jewish General Hospital Foundation’s Hero Project, a community-led initiative. The initiative will be providing support to front-line doctors, nurses and key essential staff at the Jewish General Hospital.

The project provides meals and snacks to Hospital staff offering around-the-clock care to the community.

A release provided by the Jewish General Hospital reads, “Angela felt the support was well merited and that getting the word out about this project is worthwhile as it is a win-win-win initiative.”

“Our front-line heroes, many of whom need to leave their families for extended periods to protect them from the virus, feel supported and are well fed and this impacts their morale amazingly,” said Angela Price.

“Donors themselves become Hospital Heroes and can feel a tremendous sense of pride for having made a tangible difference for the JGH front-liners.”

“Our local economy is supported. Donations also serve to boost the local community. Local restauranteurs and snack manufacturers are the providers of healthy snacks and meals at reduced rates permitting your dollars to go further while stimulating the local economy,” she added.

“Even though we are not currently in Montreal the city is in our hearts and prayers”, added Carey Price. “We are so thankful for the front-line workers working tirelessly, they are the true heroes.”

“These grassroots projects, like ours, work and they create a sense of awareness in the community,” said co-founder Brenda Rosenberg. “We are so thankful for the Price family and everyone else who supports this initiative. With a small donation of only $10 we are able to feed Hospital staff a meal and it’s just beautiful to see how happy it makes them!”

The Price family along with the Hero Project will provide 160 meals for front-line workers, with an additional 1,200 meals to be provided as the battle against COVID-19 continues.
