Quebec COVID hospitalizations down after spike

Quebec COVID hospitalizations down in the last 24 hours, after a spike – and two more deaths added.

Interim public health director Dr. Luc Boileau to update the situation at a 2 p.m. press conference. He could announce a fourth dose for those 80+ as of this summer and expand on dropping the mask mandate – scheduled for mid-April, except on public transit, which is set for early May if the epidemiological situation permits.

A total of 14,274 fatalities since the pandemic began.

Hospitals with 1,034 people being treated due to the virus, down by nine – with 99 new entries and 108 discharges.

Of those, 50 in ICU, that number up by four compared to the previous day – eight newly admitted and four released.

Vaccination rates steady 

-65 per cent of Quebecers 5 to 11 have gotten one dose, 45 per cent with two

-91 per cent of Quebecers 5+ with one dose, 87 per cent with two shots

-52 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a booster

-3K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 18.5M+ total so far
