One person dead after fire in Côte-des-Neiges

One person is dead after a fire in a Côte-des-Neiges apartment building early Monday morning.
Calls came in around 3 a.m. about the incident on the fourth floor of Habitations Côte-des-Neiges, on Gatineau Ave., near Jean-Brillant.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames and residents were evacuated – but the body of a person who was in the apartment where the fire originated was found by firefighters.
The file was transferred to Montreal police, but the SPVM say this does not seem to be a criminal fire – that nothing points in that direction.
The identity of the victim has not been released as of yet.
