Officers were at the residential building in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood.

The area was closed off with police tape, and SPVM vehicles were on the street.

The man’s body was found in a bin being picked up by a city worker Monday around 9 a.m. on Adam Street near Letourneux Avenue.

His death is being considered a homicide.

The worker was collecting garbage and emptied the bin into a truck when the remains were discovered.

Police were called immediately.

A perimeter was set up in the area and police met with neighbours Monday.

Sgt. Veronique Comtois says police are still trying to determine the cause of death.

She says they haven’t rule out any possibility, including an accident or criminal act.
