Two women dead, found with gunshot wounds in Pointe-Saint-Charles apartment

A 73-year-old grandmother and her 22-year-old granddaughter are dead after being shot in a Pointe-Saint-Charles apartment early Thursday.
Montreal police spokesperson Mariane Allaire Morin calling it a “double murder” – the 37th and 38th homicide on the territory of Montreal this year.
Officers responding to a call around 2:40 a.m. after gunshots were heard in a building on Mullins street, near Charlevoix.
Officers found both women suffering from gunshot wounds inside the apartment.
The senior died of her injuries onsite and the other woman was taken to hospital in critical condition, where authorities confirmed her death at 9:45 a.m.

The area was cordoned off as police investigators and the K-9 unit were dispatched to the scene.
A perimeter established along Mullins street and traffic was closed there between Charlevoix and Hibernia streets.
No suspect has been identified so far.
