Police looking for more possible victims of alleged sexual predator in Lévis

By The Canadian Press

A Lévis man has been arrested for alleged sex crimes against minors and police are asking others who may have been victims to come forward.

The Service de police de la Ville de Lévis (SPVL) report that Jean-François Villeneuve, 38, has been charged with sexual assault and online luring.

The investigation was initiated in January and has identified at least two victims under the age of 16, according to police.

Police allege the suspect gained the trust of his victims by using social networks and then held sexual conversations with them before planning meetings with them.

Police carried out a search of the suspect’s home, in collaboration with police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which led to the seizure of cell phones.
