Montreal celebrates Nuit Blanche 2024

“I love, love, love that Montreal has activities like this,” said Ernesto Fajardo about his first year attending Montreal’s Nuit Blanche festival after moving to Canada from Cuba. Miguel Fowke-Quintas reports.

From dusk until dawn, Saturday into Sunday, festival-goers enjoyed more than 100 free cultural experiences spread out across eight hubs in Montreal.

It was all part of the 2024 edition of Nuit Blanche, where an estimated 250,000 people were expected to enjoy the sleepless night.

Part of the Festival Montréal en Lumière, Nuit Blanche was an all-night party, offering everything from ice skating to ceramic painting to Latin dance.

There was art, poetry, dance, and cinema — some activities lasted until 8 a.m. The metro was open all night.

This year, 19 bars, clubs, and restaurants on Saint-Laurent Boulevard stayed open long past their usual closing hours.
